Services:

I offer Whole Person Design Coaching, which sees the client as an integrated whole, looks at the interrelationship of various aspects of a client's life and delves into the deeper levels in which we as humans operate: behaviors and capabilities, motivations, beliefs, values, self identity, social identity and possibly spirituality. WPD processes engage the mind as well as the body, heart and spirit (what we are connected to outside of ourself.) WPD Coaching brings about awareness, actions and accountability through transformative learning opportunities using sensory knowing and intuitiveness. (Baraka Institute 2009)

IdealClient:

My ideal client is ready to awaken their MOJO, embrace playfulness and show up in the world in a way that is authentic, inspired, empowered, creative and forward-moving. My ideal client may be a parent, a creative person or a person looking to be more creative, a person who needs support through a transition, a person who has not been able to achieve the big dream alone, or a domestic violence survivor who is/has been in therapy and is ready to begin creating an empowered new life. My coaching is based on the philosophy that when we are holistically balanced and living a life which suits our unique individuality, we are best able to achieve our soul's purpose.

    Personal Life Experience:

    HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

As the daughter of a labor & delivery nurse (mom) and liberal minister (dad), Kalah spent her formative years climbing trees and building forts in many small mid-western towns as her parents provided community service and support in each place.

Hours spent playing in the country led to the development of a keen curiosity in the natural world, an active imagination, and a powerful desire to be ever creative.

    IMMERSED IN THE ARTS

Kalah studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and earned her BFA in sculpture in 1997. After school, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she began to self-publish comic books as well as create artwork for newspapers and international publications. Including the obscure jobs of making ice cream for dogs and building barium enema kits, Kalah has worked as a graphic designer, illustrator and professional photo retoucher.

    A RETURN TO SERVICE

The birth of her son in 2002 brought to light the importance of forming vibrant, active communities. In 2004, for safety reasons, Kalah chose to become a single mother and this solidified an appreciation for the support of family, friends and organizations which help people in crisis.

Inspired by the work of her parents, Kalah returns to the important work of being in service to her community. Kalah is a Whole Person Design Certified Coach who has completed over 125 hours of coach specific training at Baraka Institute. Kalah is a member of Northwest Coaches Association and follows the International Coach Federation's code of ethics.
